One of the greatest privileges of my work is having the opportunity to learn alongside leaders from around the world. Every conversation, every coaching session, and every leadership challenge reinforces something I've come to believe deeply: there is no single formula for great leadership.
Each of us develops our own unique leadership style over time.
My hope in sharing these videos is simply to offer one perspective that might support you on your own leadership journey. Take what resonates, leave what doesn't, and adapt it in a way that feels authentic to you.
This month, I want to explore the relationship between logic and intuition.
For many years, I believed great leadership decisions came from logic, analysis, and data. While I still believe those things are incredibly important, experience has taught me that some of the strongest leaders don't rely on logic alone. They combine logic with intuition, allowing each to strengthen the other.
It's interesting to see that this isn't just anecdotal. A recent Harvard Business Review article, How CEOs Hone and Harness Their Intuition, explores how many CEOs intentionally develop and use intuition alongside data and analysis when navigating complexity and uncertainty. It's a great companion read to this month's topic.
In the video below, I share why I believe the combination of logic and intuition can be such a powerful leadership advantage. I also introduce four different types of intuition and offer a few ideas to help you recognize and strengthen them in your own leadership.
I hope it gives you something to reflect on as you continue developing your own unique leadership style.
As many organizations begin thinking about the fall, it's often a natural time to step back and ask, What capabilities do our leaders need most over the coming year?
If our approach resonates with you and our values align, I'd love to connect. At The Leadership Intensive, we partner with organizations to help leaders become the leaders they've always wanted to be. Whether you're exploring executive coaching, designing a custom leadership journey, developing your high-potential leaders, bringing a coaching culture into your organization, or investing in women leaders, we'd be happy to build an approach that fits your people, your culture, and your goals.
Enjoy the video, and I hope our paths cross soon.
